Voice Changer for Roll20 & Tabletop RPGs

Give every NPC and character a unique voice in your Roll20 campaigns. Real-time AI voice conversion for DMs and players. Free during beta.

AI Voice Conversion for Online Tabletop RPGs

Echo is a free voice changer for Roll20 and online tabletop RPGs that uses AI voice changer technology to give your characters unique, consistent voices. As a Dungeon Master, you voice dozens of NPCs — merchants, villains, guards, dragons. As a player, your character deserves a voice that matches their backstory. Echo uses RVC technology, a neural network that reconstructs your voice as a completely different person in real-time. The result sounds natural and expressive, preserving your acting choices while changing the voice identity. Audio processing runs locally in real-time. It works with Roll20 integrated voice, Discord, Foundry VTT, and any virtual tabletop that uses a microphone.

Why Tabletop RPG Players Choose Echo

🐉

NPC Voice Library

DMs can pre-load multiple voice models and switch between them — a gruff dwarf tavern keeper, a sinister lich, an elven princess. Each NPC gets a distinct, consistent voice across every session. Import any .pth model from the RVC community.

Player Character Voice

Your Tiefling warlock or halfling rogue deserves a voice that matches their character sheet. AI voice conversion changes your full voice identity — not just pitch — creating a believable character voice you can sustain for entire sessions.

Natural Roleplay Flow

Real-time processing ensures zero delay in conversation. Roleplay dialogue, combat narration, and dramatic monologues flow naturally. Other players hear your character voice in real-time with no awkward pauses.

Cross-Platform Compatible

Works with Roll20, Foundry VTT, Owlbear Rodeo, Discord, Zoom — any voice chat your table uses. Echo is a system audio device, not a platform-specific plugin.

Voice Models

Voice Models for RPG Characters

Echo supports any .pth voice model from the RVC community. Tabletop RPG players use models to create consistent character voices — wizened old wizards, battle-hardened warriors, ethereal fey creatures. DMs often maintain a library of 5-10 models for recurring NPCs. Browse models on Weights.gg and Hugging Face, or train custom models from voice references. Our voice model guide covers the entire process.

How AI Voice Technology Transforms Tabletop RPGs

Traditional voice changers apply pitch shifting — making your voice higher or lower. For tabletop RPGs, this is inadequate. A pitch-shifted voice sounds robotic, breaks immersion, and cannot differentiate between distinct characters. Echo uses RVC voice conversion, an AI voice changer technology powered by deep learning neural networks. The AI preserves your acting performance — the emotion, emphasis, and dramatic timing — while completely changing the voice identity. For DMs, this is revolutionary. Instead of doing impressions (which most people cannot sustain), you speak naturally while the AI handles the voice transformation. Each NPC sounds genuinely different because the voice model changes the entire vocal identity, not just the pitch. Your gruff dwarven blacksmith and your whispering shadow assassin have truly distinct voices, session after session.

FAQ

Roll20 Voice Changer FAQ

Is Echo free for Roll20?

Yes, completely free during the beta. No credit card, no feature restrictions. Use it for as many sessions as you want.

Does it work with Roll20 voice chat?

Yes. Roll20 integrated voice uses your browser's microphone permissions. When the browser asks for microphone access, select "Echo". Your Roll20 voice chat will use the AI-converted audio.

Can a DM switch voices between NPCs?
Yes. You can switch voice models in Echo at any time — the change takes effect within seconds. Many DMs bind different models to hotkeys for seamless transitions between NPC voices during sessions.
Does it work with Foundry VTT?
Yes. Foundry VTT uses your system or browser microphone. Select "Echo" as your audio input. It also works with Owlbear Rodeo, Alchemy VTT, and any other virtual tabletop.
Can I maintain a character voice for a whole session?
Yes. AI voice conversion processes continuously with real-time latency. You speak naturally for hours — the AI handles the voice transformation. There is no fatigue from trying to "do a voice" manually.
